The Scott & Liss Design Co. is a full service design firm that I began with Melissa Molitor, with whom I happen to be engaged! We both attended Wilmington University and majored in the "Media Design - Digital Publishing" progam (which is fancy way of saying graphic design). Under the SLDC moniker we worked together for a number of brands, including the Buttonwood School and the Volunteer Cecil initiative.
I am a big fan of the clever, 'why didn't I think of that' sort of logo, and worked tirelessly to find a way that 'S' and 'L' could fit together while invoking our art and design chops. I finally reached something that fit the bill when I sketched an early ancestor of the current logo - the 'S' was backwards and the 'L' was harshly italicized, but it was a start. After a number of iterations it became the clean, bold, and evokative mark you see here. SLDC may be on hiatus, but our logo lives on (thankfully so does our ineffable, storybook romance)!
